Don Callejon Middle School Counseling
The Don Callejon Middle School counseling department strives to support the success of all students through the implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program. We address students’ academic needs, college and career readiness, and social/emotional development by providing whole-classroom, small-group, and individual counseling. Don Callejon School Counselors believe that all students possess valuable strengths and have the ability to achieve in academics, careers, and relationships. We help students discover and utilize their strengths to make decisions, solve problems, and implement changes that will help them succeed. Don Callejon School Counselors have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Counseling, and a Pupil Personnel Services credential. Our counseling program includes:

Fostering a positive school climate

Partnering with parents, teachers, administrators and community members

Academic advising (organization, time management, homework completion, etc.)

Assisting students to resolve conflicts with peers

Providing social skills instruction

Guiding mindfulness exercises

Collaborating with the Health and Wellness department

Managing intervention programs such as Homework Club, and Academic Success
