Don Callejon School

Message from Santa Clara Unified School District regarding Don Callejon School

Don Callejon School’s sixth and seventh grades are projected to be overenrolled in the 2017-2018 school year. At the June 13, 2017 Santa Clara Unified School District Board of Trustees meeting, the Board took action to ensure that currently enrolled incoming sixth and seventh grade students will have enrollment options that include:

  1. An option to attend Don Callejon for their middle school years, and
  2. An option to voluntarily enroll in another District middle school of preference

In order to provide the needed classroom space and faculty for all currently enrolled incoming sixth and seventh grade students at Don Callejon, the Board also voted to approve the computer lab being re-purposed as a classroom, adding portables starting in the 2018-2019 school year, and bringing in additional staff for the new classrooms. A mobile Chromebook cart will replace the computer lab.

Letters for voluntary transfer options will be mailed to the families of all incoming sixth and seventh grade students by next Friday, June 23, 2017. Families who wish to take advantage of this opportunity will have a limited amount of time to respond to the letter, so please watch your mailboxes.

Where are all the student pictures?

We know many people would love to see pictures of Don Callejon students here.  Unfortunately, at this time, privacy restrictions prevent us from publishing photographs of students on the general school website.  Parents are encouraged to attend the many school family events in person to see the students' smiling faces.
